Film Review -- Paddington

Some films are great, some are not. This one is great. Paddington is a lovely family film that will be remembered for a long time. I put Paddington in my No. 2 spot for my most anticipated films of the year, and this film did not disappoint.
The cast works together so beautifully, they all portray their characters so well, what ever stage of their evolution that they may be in. Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Samuel Joslin and Madeleine Harris work together well as a family. Some times child-actors can't act as well as their adult counterparts, but this film was an exception. The Browns felt real. I would not have been surprised if they really were family. Julie Walters' Mrs. Bird was one of the best parts of the entire film. She was funny, but yet not stupid. Nicole Kidman did well as the villain, and Peter Capaldi was really fun to watch as he fumbled his way around the film as Mr. Curry.
I always find that really obvious CGI ruins a movie, but this CGI was great. The relationship between the physical world and the animated bears was so seamless, despite having a 55 million dollar budget. 55 million mat seem like a lot, but when you consider films like The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies had a 250 million dollar budget and the CGI look poor, that is quite impressive.
I liked the tone of this movie. It had a couple serious moments, and the action always felt tense, but it still didn't take itself very seriously (in a good way!). I liked how this film felt more like a British Comedy than an American one, the Brits always funnier. The american family movies sometimes have really funny parts, but most of the time they go for stupid fart jokes. The Brits seem more edgy, but the way they handle it makes it so much fun. Because this movie has British comedy, Mrs. Bird can have an alcohol drinking contest with someone, but if this was an American comedy, she wouldn't do that without people being upset.
I think this film could have been a little longer. It told a really great story, but I feel like we could have seen a little more of Paddington and the rest of the world. But other than that small note, this film was fantastic I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good time with their family and will give this film a proud %95.

The Flash TV Show -- Crazy Villain Ideas

WARNING: This post contains spoilers from The Flash Episodes 1-10, and potential spoilers for the rest of the series.

Well, The Flash Episode 10 aired last night on the CW, and boy, was it ever exciting. While watching the episode, I got a few crazy ideas for the future of the characters in the series. Here they are!

Caitlin Snow: From what we saw in the final scene of the 10th episode, the idea that Caitlin may turn into Killer Frost (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_Frost) is not that crazy. In the final scene, Heat Wave and Captain Cold were freed by Cold's sister (who is wielding a cold gun!). In the comics, Caitlin turns into another icy villain named "Killer Frost". I know that Leonard Snart (Captain Cold) has a sister in the comics (Lisa Snart), but changing this could be a good way to introduce Killer Frost, but most likely Lisa will be introduced, and Caitlin will have to find another way into the role of Killer Frost.

Eddie Thawne: Eddie Thawne is Professor Zoom, the 2nd reverse flash. In the comics, there are five Reverse-Flashes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse-Flash): The Rival (Edward Clariss), Professor Zoom (Eobard Thawne), Zoom (Hunter Zolomon), Inertia (Thaddeus Thawne), and Daniel West. As you may have noticed, the names Eddie Thawne and Eobard Thawne look pretty similar, eh?

Dr. Harrison Wells: At the end of Episode 9, we got confirmation that Dr. Harrison Wells is Reverse-Flash, but I don't think he is Professor Zoom, I think he's Zoom. In the comics, Zoom is paralyzed, and haven't you noticed? Dr. Wells goes about in a wheel chair to.

Those are my crazy predictions for the future of some of the characters in The Flash. Now I could be wrong in all my predictions, but until I know more, this is what I'm sticking with.

The Flash Episode 11 "The Sound and the Fury" will be on The CW (USA) and CTV (Canada) on Tuesday, January 27th at 8:00pm.

Could Batman beat Superman?? - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice predictions

Now people like to debate if Batman could beat Superman, and with March 2016 bringing us Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the topic is growing even faster. Here is my opinion on this growing mater: I love Batman, he is probably one of my three favorite superheroes ever, but he could not defeat Superman in a fight. Now, people give us the battle between Batman and Superman in the one of the Hush stories as reason for Batman being able to defeat Superman, but Batman was only able to this by using a Kryptonite fist, and Batman also says later that he almost shattered his hand in doing so.
People also use the fight between the two heroes in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns as reason for Batman being able to defeat Superman without Kryptonite, but Batman says that Superman isn't going full power, and Batman does use Kryptonite, he gets Oliver Queen to shoot a Kryptonite-tipped arrow into Superman's face.
So at the end of the day, Batman could not beat Superman, but I will give credit to Batman for how awesome the punch on Superman looks, and his great line in The Dark Knight Returns, which is: "I want you to remember something, Clark, in all the years to come, in your most private of moments, I want you to remember my hand at you throat! I want you to remember the one man who beat you!"      Are you excited for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Comment below and let me know!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released on March 25th, 2016, and stars: Henry Cavil, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Jason Momoa and Jeremy Irons

Marvel Cinematic Universe -- The Characters We Need to See

Marvel has a habit where they introduce new supporting and main villains and heroes into their movies. Raza was a supporting villain in Iron Man, The Warriors Three were the supporting heroes of the Thor movies, Falcon was a supporting hero in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Kurse was a supporting villain in Thor: The Dark World. I have composed a list of new and returning characters we need to see in Marvel's Phase Three films. I will not be listing the heroes that the films are about or the villains that we know will be in the film, or heroes and villains that just don't work, and I know Ant-Man is Phase Two film, but I am still writing about it in this list.

Ant-Man (July 17th, 2015)
Heroes:
-Wasp!! Sadly no one has been cast as Janet Van Dyne (AKA Wasp), but a knew Van Dyne has been. Evangeline Lilly has cast has a new character Hope Van Dyne. Maybe Hope will be a version of the Wasp?
Villains:
-M.O.D.O.K.. M.O.D.O.K. and AIM would be great additions to the MCU. AIM has been briefly seen in Iron Man 3, but it would be great to see them flushed out further. I think that the Ant-Man film would be a great place to bring them into the universe. And where ever AIM is, M.O.D.O.K. is sure to follow.

Captain America: Civil War (May 6th, 2016)
Heroes:
-Daredevil and the Defenders. By the time this film is released, we will have seen at least 13 episodes of Daredevil and AKA Jessica Jones, and we may see episodes of Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the Defenders around or just after this film debuts. This film would be a great place to bring in these heroes into the MCU.
-Spider-man. I know I said that Sony Pictures owns Spider-man, but Marvel Studios has been trying to get the rights to this character for this movie. Spider-man plays a critical role in the Civil War story arc, and it would be sad to not see him in this film.
Villains:
-Nitro. Nitro plays a small part in the Civil War comic, but it is one of the most critical. Having this minor character in the film would be a nice nod to the source material.

Doctor Strange (November 4th, 2016)
Heroes:
-The Ancient One. Even though I can pretty much guaranty that this character will appear in this film, he was the only other hero that I could think of that could appear in a Doctor Strange film. The Ancient One is Doctor Strange's master and he must be in this film.
Villains:
-Baron Mordo. Baron Mordo is a fallen student of The Ancient One and is the arch nemesis of Doctor Strange. He would be a great addition to the film!
-Dormammu. From what we've heard about this film, Dormammu will most likely be the main villain. His interdenominational abilities would ad something new to the MCU.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (May 5th, 2017)
Heroes:
-The original Guardians! Many of you don't know this, but the Guardians of the Galaxy were originally a future-set 1960s team. The modern Guardian and the original Guardians have crossed over in the comics, and it would be great to see them in a movie together. The chances of them being seen in this film are likely since we did see Yondu in the Guardians of the Galaxy film and Yondu is a member of the original Guardians.
Villains:
-The Badoon. In the comics, the Badoon were the aliens that killed Peter Quill's mother, and they have been some regular foes of the Guardians. The also have ties to J'son, Peter's comics father.

Thor: Ragnarok (July 28th, 2017)
Heroes:
-Beta Ray Bill. Beta Ray Bill is the only other person who is able to lift Thor's hammer. In the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes TV series, Beta Ray Bill was introduced has a alien who has being attacked by Surtur's (more on him in a moment) Fire Demons. This would be a great way to introduce him into the movie top.
Villains:
-Surtur. Since this film is called Ragnarok, I can promise Surtur will be in the film. Him and his Fire Demons would be quite the challenge for Thor and Co., and maybe he'll ever destroy Asgard.

Black Panther (November 3rd, 2017)
Heroes:
-White Wolf. In the comics, Hunter, AKA White Wolf is the adopted brother of T'Challa (who becomes Black Panther). He is a pretty unknown character, but he would be perfect for the film, none the less.
-Captain America. WARNING: Potential spoilers for Captain America: Civil War in this character blurb. Since Steve Rogers (the current Captain America) will most likely die at the end of Civil War, and Bucky Barnes will take up the mantel, this would be a great film to introduce Bucky as the new Cap. Maybe T'Challa could come to america for help defeating the people who killed his dad, and recruit Captain America?
-Hawkeye. Since Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow has made two performances outside of The Avengers film, and Jeremy Renner has made one other cameo in Thor, so  I think it's high time Hawkeye made a stand out performance away from Avengers film. I think Black Panther would be the perfect film to do that.
Villains:
-Ulysses Klaw. Klaw has been teased by Marvel, and it looks like he will be played Andy Serkis. Klaw is the Murderer of T'Challa's father, T'Chaka, and Klaw being a villain in this film would be amazing.
-Man-Ape. As seen in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes TV show, he was a rival of T'Chaka and this would be a really great approach for the character.

Avengers: Infinity - Part 1 (May 4th, 2018)
Heroes:
-Not every-one. Bringing everyone into this movie would spoil the excitement of seeing that in the next movie. Maybe they could base this movie on the Captain America: Reborn Story? That would be cool.
Villains:
-Some Thanos minions. I'm not sure what minions, but some sort of henchmen of Thanos. Maybe they could be trying to stop the heroes from awakening Captain America?

Captain Marvel (July 6th, 2018)
Heroes:
-Captain Marvel. This is a different Captain Marvel than the title one, that one is Carol Danvers, I'm talking about Mar-vel, a Kree soldier who was involved with giving Carol Danvers her powers, and has been her ally for a long time.
Villains:
-Ronan The Accuser. I know that he died at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy, but I want to see him brought back! Ronan and some other Kree could be trying to stop Captain Marvel from alerting the Guardians of the Galaxy of Thanos' presence of Earth?

Inhumans (November 2nd, 2018)
Heroes:
-Captain Marvel. Now I'm talking about Carol Danvers, she could have heard about the Inhumans through a Kree computer, and has gone to get their help fighting Thanos?
Villains:
-Maximus the Mad. I honestly don't know much about Maximus, other than he's Blackbolt's (the Inhuman king) brother, he's evil and he's a main foe of the Inhumans. I think he could bring some squabbling-royal-family drama to the MCU.

Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2 (May 3rd, 2019)
Heroes:
-Everyone!!!!! This is the perfect film to unite all the MCU characters in one movie. Thanos is here, and now all the heroes must ally to stop him!!!!
Villains:
-All the living ones!! Thanos could recruit the villains and help him defeat the heroes of the MCU.

Movies explained: Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)

What is the MCU? Who the heck is Thanos? Where is Spider-man in the MCU? I'll answer all these questions and more in this chapter of Movies Explained.
The MCU is a group of interconnected film series and TV shows produced by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures that revolve around a central plot. So far their are 10 films part of the MCU, and 2 more will come this year. The films are: Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), The Avengers (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013), Thor: The Dark World (2013), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). The 2015 films are: The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man.
"Where are is Spider-man, the X-Men, Daredevil and Fantastic Four films?" you may ask. Well back in the day, Marvel Comics sold the film rights to those three properties to 20th Century Fox (X-Men, Daredevil and Fantastic Four) and Sony Pictures (Spider-man). Marvel still had the rights to several other characters and used them to make this universe. Marvel has been able to buy the rights to Daredevil, but no other properties.
Marvel has divided their films into "Phases". Phase One: Avengers Assembled lasted form 2008-2012, Phase Two is 2013-2015, and Phase 3 will take 2016-2019. A forth, fifth, etc. phases will most likely happen, but they have yet to be confirmed.
Marvel currently has one TV show on ABC (USA). It's called "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.". Another series called "Agent Carter" is set to debut on ABC in two days (January 6th, 2015). In May, Marvel will debut a Netflix series called "Daredevil", and a second Netflix series called "A.K.A. Jessica Jones" is set to come out sometime this year.
Now whats this interconnected plot that I mentioned before? It's the Infinity story. Basically, an evil titan named Thanos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanos) wants to destroy the universe, and he can do this by acquiring the six infinity stones (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinity_Gems) that control various aspects of existence: space, power, time, reality, a being's mind and a being's soul. All these stones can be controlled by the infinity gauntlet.
The stones have been scattered throughout the universe, falling into the hands of various races. Thanos sends his minions to collect these stones for him. Our best guess is that we have  seen four infinity stones so far (since they have not been directly confirmed by Marvel): space stone (Tesseract; seen in: Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers), mind stone (The glowing ball in Loki's scepter; seen in: The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (briefly)), reality stone (Aether; seen in: Thor: The Dark World), and the power stone (The Orb; seen in: Guardians of the Galaxy).
Whats the future of the MCU? Well, Marvel has 9 films set to be released between 2016 and 2019. They also have three more Netflix series set to Debut in the next few years, though the dates have yet to be confirmed.
What do you think of the MCU? Do you watch Marvel movies? Comment below and let me Know.

TV Review -- The Flash (Ep. 1-7, 9)

DISCLAIMER: I have not seen The Flash Ep. 8 yet, so won't be able to review that one.

Marvel has taken over the big screen. Since the year 2000, Marvel (including Fox and Sony) have put out 33 films and DC has only released 9. But when it comes to TV, Marvel currently has 1 show on the air, with 3 more coming some time this year, and DC has 4 (one of them is The Flash) on the air and 2 more coming this year. I think that DC should just scrap their planned movie and put everything out on TV, because The Flash TV series is AMAZING!!!!
Everything about the series is great, I love the cast, the special effects are really great, and the story is really strong. I love how DC has done something unique and put two TV shows in one universe, and how that don't directly effect each other, but can cross-over at anytime.
I really enjoy the plot the series has going. I never really like it when a TV show is unconnected, and none of the previous episodes have any impact, unless its 2-6 episode story. I also don't like shows that make you rely on seeing the other episodes to have the story make sense. The Flash handles its story really well. It is easy to pick up anywhere in the series, but still every episode has some sort of impact on the story.
The CGI of this series is really great. I like that not everything is CGI, and that they use lots of practical effects, but when it uses CGI, it actually looks good. You may expect that because The Flash is a TV show it may have some pretty crummy effects, but no, The Flash has effects to rival Superhero movies.
The characters in this show are great. Even though they live in a fictional world where people are given superpowers, they still feel relatable. Sometimes characters in superhero mediums can feel very un-human, like Superman. Superman is an alien, he has superpowers, he is not relatable Sure, maybe Clark Kent (Superman's secret identity) is, but Clark never develops because he is just a fake person. But, Barry Allen, Iris West, Cisco, Caitlin Snow, Detective Joe West, and the rest of the characters of The Flash are all real humans, in a realistic world. Sure, someone could never acquire super-speed by being struck be lightning, but, even though that happens in the show, it never feels fake.
The only problem with this FANTASTIC show is that it suffers from a common disease found in comic book films and TV shows: we-must-have-lots-of-different-villains-disorder. Comic book films and TV shows are adapted from a long history of comic-book history. Spider-man first appeared in 1962, and has battled tons of villains, same with many other heroes. When film makers adapt these heroes to the big-screen they pick out the best villains and place a new one in every single film, and so villains don't develop as the films go on. Almost every single episode has a new villain, and that bugs me.
All that considering, I will recommend The Flash to comic-book fans and new comers alike and will give the first half of season 1 of The Flash (excluding ep. 8 cause I did not see that one) %95. I can't wait for the second half for the first season to start up again later this month! Have you seen The Flash? Comment below and let me know.

The Flash information:
Original airing: October 7th, 2014
Next Episode: Ep. 10 "Revenge of the Rouges" on January 20th, 2015
Rating: N/A
Director: David Nutter (ep. 1-2), Jesse Warn (ep. 3), Glen Winter (ep. 4, 8), Dermott Downs (ep. 5), Millicent (ep. 6), Larry Shaw (ep. 7), Ralph Hemecker (ep. 9),
Starring: Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West, and Robbie Amell as Ronnie Raymond.

My Most Anticipated 2015 Films -- 1. The Avengers: Age of Ultron

Do I need to say anything? It's the sequel to The Avengers!!!!! I can't wait to see the Avengers battle one of their greatest villains on the big-screen. I'm excited to see the Avengers torn apart by Ultron as he attempts to end humanity as we know it. Ultron is a different kind of enemy. He isn't a alien battling to enslave humanity, he isn't a evil human taking over the world, he isn't someone driven by revenge or power, he is a robot. Ultron believes that humanity is so sinful that it does not deserve to live. He comes back time and time again, each time with a new gadget up his sleeve (like Vision), to eliminate humanity and replace it with robots.
Seeing Vision and Scarlet Witch in the same film excites me too. In the comics, Vision and Scarlet Witch have always loved each other. Could this be the reason Vision joins the Avengers? Anywho, this film will be amazing! I want to be first in line on opening day!

The Avengers: Age of  Ultron trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmeOjFno6Do

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released on May 1st, 2015

The Avengers: Age of Ultron stars: Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron-man, Chris Evens as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Arron Taylor-Johnson as Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver, Elizabeth Olson as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and James Spader as Ultron,

What 2015 films are you excited for? Comment below and let me know.

My Most Anticipated 2015 Films -- 2. Paddington

A talking British bear? Who could ask for more? The stories of Paddington Bear are always a delight, and I am very excited to see them lived out one screen. The trailers for this film look really funny. It looks like Paddington will get himself into all sorts of exciting adventures! The CGI for Paddington looks great. It looks like something from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Paddington comes out in a few days, and I hope to be there as soon as I can!

Paddington has already been released in the UK and will be released on January 16th, 2015 in the USA.

Paddington stars: Hugh Bonneville as Mr. Brown, Sally Hawkins as Mrs. Brown, Collin Firth as Paddington Bear, Nichole Kidman as Millicent and Julie Walters a Mrs. Bird.

My Most Anticipated 2015 Films -- 3. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

I think it's pretty obvious why I'm excited for this film. It's Star Wars!! Even after the horrible Episode I and II, I still want to see the next installment. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford will return as the three original Star Wars heroes, and with a new director, J.J. Abrams working on the film, it may be the beginning of a new golden age of Star Wars films.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMOVFvcNfvE

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens will be released on December 18th, 2015 (USA)

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens stars: Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Oscar Issac as Poe Dameron, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, John Boyega as Finn, Kenny Baker as R2-D2, and Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca,

My Most Anticipated 2015 Films -- 4. Jurassic World

The original Jurassic Park movie was amazing. It sported ground-breaking CGI, amazing cast and had a pretty awesome premise. The series fell though with The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III. And with a fourth part reboot/part sequel coming to us in 2015, we can only hope for the best. The trailer was recently released, and it looks like Jurassic World will bring back the good ol' days of the first Jurassic Park. The CGI looked pretty good, and with Chris Pratt staring, it should one heck of a ride. I can't wait!!

Here is Jurassic World's trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFinNxS5KN4

Jurassic World will be released on June 12th, 2015 (USA)

Jurassic World stars: Chris Pratt as Owen, Bryce Dallas Howard as Beth and Ty Simpkins as Gray

Ant-Man Movie Update: FIRST LOOK AT YELLOWJACKET!!!!!!

I just found this Ant-Man banner on digitaltrends.com. It show a close view of both Ant-Man and the film's antagonist: Yellowjacket!
http://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/ant-man-movie-banner-offers-first-look-yellowjacket/

My Most Anticipated 2015 Films -- 5. Ant-Man

Ant-Man is a pretty unknown Marvel character, but he should not be taken lightly. In the comics, Hank Pym (the first Ant-Man) is a troubled character. He deals with his pacifist ideas and still being a super-hero. He also is still kicking himself for making Ultron. But this movie is taking a different stance on the character. It looks like the movie will be focusing on the second Ant-Man: Scott Lang. I am excited to see how Marvel Studios shows us Ant-Man for the MCU. Maybe this film could help introduce A.I.M. into the MCU?

Here is some test footage for Ant-Man: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-pFrplmexo

Ant-Man will be released on July 17th, 2015 (USA)

Ant-Man is starring: Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Corey Stoll as Daren Cross/Yellowjacket

My Most Anticipated 2015 Films -- 6. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

I am a huge fan of Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games book trilogy, and the final part of Mockingjay is by far the most exciting and dramatic part of the whole trilogy. I am really excited to see the final part of The Hunger Games saga play out on screen. When you think the plot is going one way, it twists and twists and twists. The ending of Mockingjay is the most unpredictable series of events that will keep anyone guessing.

No official trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 has been released. I will post it when it comes out.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 will be released on November 20th, 2015 (USA)

The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 is starring: Jenifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Sam Clafin as Finnick Odair, Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman and Donald Sutherland as President Snow
